If you first asked me what colour I wanted my #manavaraisaree to be, I would have NEVER said yellow. Yellow, was never an option for me. If you go through my closet, you won’t even find a single piece of yellow clothing. It’s not that I hate the colour, but rather just never thought it suited my skin tone. When I came across this saree at Varathas in Toronto, it was love at first sight❤️ However, my husband and mother thought otherwise. They thought I should continue to browse around and seek into other options. They took me to 4 other stores, but all I thought about was this golden yellow saree. Believe it or not, I went back the next day and bought it. Something about it, it was just pure golden. When I first wore this saree on my wedding day, it made feel so cheerful and happy. I was lucky to find a great jewelry set in India to go well with it. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut feeling when you want something. My husband and mother are the same ones who complimented my saree with the entire look on the wedding day. Another thing is, this saree wasn’t as expensive as most ‘bridal sarees’ tend to be, in which the elders weren’t so fond of as well. Bottom line is, if I bought something for $1000+ blinged out, I’m sure I wouldn’t wear it again. So I’d rather buy something that I know will come out of the closet again. Live your life and do what makes you happy.
